I found a very interesting application for Corel Draw, called Corel Drawings X3, that allows you to import a vector image, and it renders it in a way that looks just like a photorealistic embroidery.
This tool is very useful for all those who, in the texturing process, want to create outfits decorated with embroidery, such as military emblems or crests, or any other embroidery decoration of any kind.
In my case, I designed an emblem of a flower for a 3D model's jacket in Adobe Illustrator, and then imported it into Corel Drawings X3. After playing a little bit with the settings I came up with a very nice looking embroidery image, that I now present to you.
Taking a closer look, you can see how real and clean the result is. The application even simulates little mistakes and differences between the stitches, to make it look so natural, it seems like made by hand.
